American Folktunes -Beautiful gems in our own backyard!
You may have grown up with these American tunes, but do you ever try to play them? There are some beautiful gems in our backyard! I have drawn repertoire from Appalachian, cowboy, Southern, Midwest, Steven Foster, and Woodie Guthrie, among others. Music will be passed out to read through, and several of the arrangements are for two or more parts.

Dexterity Exercises for Playing Celtic Music at Speed
Frustrated by sluggish fingers? Is your fingering choreography holding you back? I will show some basic exercises to get your fingers going, and then teach a tune or two that put them to work. Suggested for anyone except beginners.

Tunes, Tunes, Tunes - Jigs, Reels, Hornpipes and Strathspey
This workshop will cover some repertoire of Scottish and Irish music. We will discuss the differences between basic dance types such as jig, reel, strathspey, and hornpipe. I will talk about how to give the dance music its lilt, and how to add interest with ornaments. The music is taught orally, with sheet music passed out at the end. Appropriate for all levels except absolute beginners.
